A Message from the Founder!
Always looking for the obscure and the strange! Yes, a fish with a pepper in it's mouth fits the script!
I am absolutely having a blast finding all the fun and exciting things I can to show our guests. I have discovered that life is full of colorful, unusual things to see and do and I am determined to see and do as many of them as possible.
I have often told family and friends that one day I will start talking out of my head and wetting on myself and it will be time for my caretakers to place me somewhere. At that time I'll give up all the things I've gathered all my life for a twin bed, bedside table and small closet of boring clothes. I'm not trying to be depressing, I've just lived long enough to see the road map. Even the newest assisted living facility is a far cry from home. So, I'm prepared to give up all my stuff with the hope that God will leave my memories. And with that hope in mind, I'm going to fill my memory bucket so full folks won't know what to think.
Everything that comes on TV or is seen in a magazine, I'm gong to say "I've been there!. I've done that!". Folks will think I'm the biggest liar they've ever met. They'll say, "That Kay's been everywhere and done everything!". And by golly I will have. Every crack, crevice, state, lake, park, arch, show, rock, town, city, you name it, I'm going to give it all I've got to see it. And I'd love to have you along for the ride.

At one Brave the R.E.D. ceremony in the Bayou we held our first Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony and it was wonderful. The photos will not do it justice as the sentiment of the event was very touching. Our flags presented for retirement were worn and tattered, faded and ragged from their service, and each of them were properly disposed of with great respect and honor.
Our thanks to Bruce Mitchell, a retired Fire Chief from CA for his service and for his assistance with the ceremony. Thanks to our guest veterans John Hammes, Richard Telles-Goins, Ron Lasco, and Jim Schellenberger who presented the flags for disposal. Thanks to the JROTC for their presentation of the colors at each of our Brave the R.E.D. events. And thanks to Bill Hamilton for building our rack for the ceremony and for assisting with the burn.
